Our Research Area is focused on the complexities of economic systems with respect to the social, cultural and environmental characterisation of regional and urban areas. It aims at analysing the social well-being of communities and the quality of products and of economic processes.
It specialises in policy-oriented research that contribute to the definition and implementation of regional innovation policies, even within the EU programming, through the following analysis techniques: structural analysis and organization of the territory, scenario analysis, biographical interviews, participant observation, surveys, in-depth interviews following tools and research / action: EASW (European Awareness Scenario Building Workshop), search conferences, consensus- conference building, multicriteria analysis.
The Research Area is cooperating with the Department of Architecture of the University of Roma Tre with which Fondazione Di Vittorio established the Observatory on Metropolis that analyses structural and territorial dynamics supporting urban and regional policies.
